Stevens Industries Is Creating New Market in U.S.
Distributors are clamoring for new StevensWood product
ST. LOUIS, MO, September 15, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the debut of their new StevensWood premium texture Artika and Rain designer panels, Stevens Industries is creating a new market for laminated panels in the U.S. Stevens is the only company in the U.S. manufacturing domestically, providing quicker availability, lower carrying costs and at a much lower price point than those importing these panels from Europe.
With Artika offering a wide grain, dual sheen pattern and Rain displaying a tight grain pattern, these innovative textures boast a very deep, pronounced grain that evokes the sense of touch. According to Bill Lane, Marketing & Distribution Chain Manager, people can't believe that it's not a wood product. "They see it and think it looks fantastic, but then they touch it, and can't believe that it's not a veneer." Textured laminates were prominently featured in European markets in 2010 - 2011, and Stevens is the only manufacturer producing them domestically. "We've been able to drive this spec through the market. U.S. designers and furniture manufacturers have discovered textures, and we can provide them quickly and at a much better price than those companies who are importing from Italy, as they're manufactured right here in Teutopolis, Illinois," said Lane.
With the inherent properties of laminated panels, Artika and Rain provide designers with a wealth of options for almost every space, including retail, hospitality, healthcare and other commercial applications. The textures are grouped into an easy-to-spec offering of 12 of the trendiest market colors, ranging from Bamboo to Ebony, and available in a variety of core materials.
"From Particleboard to Medium Density Fiberboard to whatever level of green core you require, Stevens can produce it," said Lane. "With the look and feel of wood, but the durability and price of laminate, these textures are drawing a huge amount of interest from distributors and even end-users across all of North America, not just the U.S.," he added. Stevens's textures are currently used by several major furniture and store fixture manufacturers in the office furniture, hospitality and retail markets.
