Doreen Christian La Roche Honored for Excellence in Construction Project Management
Doreen C. La Roche was named Professional of the Year in Civil Engineering & Construction Management in 2010
WASHINGTON, DC, October 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Doreen La Roche, Civil Engineer, Project Manager and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative for the United States Department of Agriculture, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in civil engineering and construction management.
Ms. La Roche has honed her expertise in construction project management throughout her 25 years of professional experience. She has devoted a majority of her career to the United States Department of Agriculture. As a civil engineer, project manager and contracting officer's technical representative, Ms. La Roche is tasked with managing construction and facility upgrade projects.
She previously worked with the Federal Highway Administration, DOT as a transportation engineer, the United States Forest Service and USDA's Office of Operations Engineering Branch. Ms. La Roche considers the highlights of her career to have managed new construction for the U.S.D.A. in Beltsville, Md. and the interior renovations of the South Building modernization project in Washington, D.C.
In recognition of her exceptional work, Ms. La Roche has received a number of awards for excellence in construction management. She was also named a Professional of the Year in Civil Engineering and Construction Management in 2010 by Cambridge Who's Who. Ms. La Roche attributes her accomplishments to her personality and passion for her work.
Ms. La Roche is pursuing a master's degree in Green Building and plans to become a LEED accredited professional in the near future. In 1985, she earned a bachelor's degree in construction engineering from the University of the District of Columbia. Her professional affiliations include the American Society of Civil Engineers. In addition to her work with the United States Department of Agriculture, Ms. La Roche serves as the board vice chair of Young Ladies of Tomorrow, an organization that provides counseling and programs for at-risk teenage girls, and has been a member of the public service sorority Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. since 1990.
Ms. La Roche has been married for the past 21 years to Herbert S. La Roche and has three wonderful children, Kirkland (25), Kiersten (19) and Khristian (15).
